Celebrate Central Park with Esther Crow

Mott Haven Library, 321 E 140th St, Bronx, NY 10454

Award-winning NYC native New Yorker and Kindie Rocker, Esther Crow, and her handmade puppets, encourage kids to celebrate the history, beauty and uniqueness of Central Park through interactive songs and movement. Kids will take a whimsical journey and learn about the architectural design, some of the plant and animal life native to the park, and historical events, like the "be ins" in the 1960's where people gathered for social justice causes. Esther's handmade animal puppets tell stories and teach lessons, like Bernie the Bee, who explains the importance of bees for pollinating the park's beautiful flowers; and Oliver Owl, who teaches about the indigenous trees in the park and the role they play in purifying our air and combating climate change. With a combination of original guitar songs and backing tracks, Esther incorporates mindfulness, sustainability and the importance of community.
